Knowledge sharing at ZIE2024

3 April 2024

Representatives of the technology industry in the Netherlands will gather at Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam on 4 April for ZIE 2024. This annual event – organised by Hi Delta and Mikrocentrum – connects high-tech and manufacturing companies, suppliers, knowledge institutions, educators and governments. The ESA Technology Broker NL will once again have a presence, following on from the first attendance last year. Discover groundbreaking solutions utilising space tech applied to everyday life by visiting our booth #65 or from the stage in the afternoon. Register now for this free event.

Space tech for terrestrial applications: share your ideas

This year’s theme for ZIE (Zuid Holland Industry Event) is “New technology for the manufacturing industry.” Collaborations between companies and sectors across the Zuid Holland region are needed to solve today’s major societal challenges. Transitions, such as digitalisation, green energy and the circular economy, require technological innovation and – for that to happen successfully – cooperation and knowledge sharing are essential.

Together we know more than one. This is not only the philosophy of ZIE 2024, it is also the basis for the technology transfer programme of the European Space Agency (ESA). The space industry is brimming with unique systems and materials built to withstand the challenging conditions in outer space. The network of ESA Technology Brokers aims to disseminate these technological advances in various sectors on Earth.

Both from the exhibition booth and from the stage, Corneel Bogaert of the ESA Technology Broker for the Netherlands will share insights from technology transfer activities and how these relate to the aforementioned transitions. Join our dialogue on how technology solutions can be applied to your needs and challenges. What do you want to know more about? Share your comments in our ideas box in the exhibition hall!

Find us at booth #65 and on stage from 15:30 in Zaal 3. Get all the information you need from the ZIE 2024 website or read the extract that highlights the presentation of the broker:

“Technology has become an important part of our modern life, including space technology. In addition to satellite data, technology transfer of innovations for space have been changing our lives on Earth. Systems designed for the challenging conditions of outer space require exceptional reliability and robustness, including being able to withstand extreme temperatures, radiation and vibration during launch. These properties are essential in space travel to keep systems operational, but they also provide added value in various terrestrial sectors. Learn more about technology transfer and join our dialogue on how technology solutions can be applied to your needs and challenges.”
